Aww, and there I was thinking it was dur to my tender loving care! It's my third year of growing them and Rasputin III has produced humungus fruit - to the point where I thought his father might have had some shennanigins with Madame Marmand. :0When the Devil gives you Cowpats - make Satanic Compost!

I am growing the Cremee de Noire too BB, but you already knew that didn't you?Originally posted by bearded bloke View PostProbably the size Bren,I am growing Cremee de Noire (very similar to black russian) & they are about the size of a small fist
I'm also growing Black Russian and I was very disappointed with them a few months ago as they were leggy and weak. Not any more - they have fruits the size of apples. Can't wait for them to ripen

we grow them in tubs in the greenhouse,we find the longer ripening times because of cooler temps seem to suite them, the flavour develops gradually, ideally suited for this area, todays outside temp is 13deg,so its slowly slowly catchee monkey,or dont fight the climate, use it..Originally posted by Flummery View PostI grew them about 10 years ago. Interesting was the word, but I found them disappointingly bland. I like a bit of acidity to balance the sweetness in a tom.
