I would imagne a couple of weeks in a fridge will fool them into thinking that it's winter & thats what the dormant period is. If you planted 1st earlies in pots in the greenhouse really early I guess you could uses those but there won't be enough time between harvest & replanting to get a crop I wouldn't have thought.

I was going to try supermarket salad spuds ( charlotte probably) as I only want 6 or so myself.

Might try the supermarket spuds myself then as everyone else is! My second earlies in the potato barrel are just about ready so I might put some in there when I take those out. I'll just have to try & wrap the tops up with fleece or something when the frosts start as I have nowhere undercover to keep them.

Just got an email from Thompson & Morgan offering Carlingford potatoes-
5 tubers for £2.99 or 20 for £8.99, offer ends 02/08. Only problem is post & packing is £4.99 so I won't be sending for 5 as I was going to! I'll post the link here if anyone wants them.http://potatoes.thompson-morgan.com/...duct/zd13791/1
