  • Cucumber in same Growbag as Tomatoes?

Hi All - I have two grow bags in my small greenhouse and have planted two tomato plants in each. There is some space in the middle of each of the bags- can I plant a cucumber (Burpless)inbetween the tomatoes? The bags are fairly close together also, so will this be too much distance for the plants to make baby cucumbers?

When you say Burpless, I assume you are referring to Burpless Tasty Green.

This is an outdoor variety, so that's your first problem.

It's a big vigorous plant, so even if you try them indoors they are going to badly shade those tomatoes.

I don't think I would do it myself.

Not a good idea to mix tomatoes and cucumbers in the same bag. Why not stick an extra tomato in the middle?

Tomatoes and cucumber don't mix too well. Why not just put another tomato in the middle? Sorry, just posted more or less the same reply twice - site froze on me!

thanks for replies - on the label it says the Burpless Cucumber can be put either outdoors on under glass!? Anyway have taken your advice and put another tomato plant in the middle of the other two.

          Thanks, Dee
