  • Pumpkin care

    Hi all,

I have a couple of pumpkin plants growing in pots, which are doing very well. They look like they may be making lods of flowers, but they could be leaves, I'm not quite sure yet.
Do I need to pinch any out?

    Thanks

    Hi Blossom.

I never pinch mine out although they do say you should restrict them to only 3-4 fruits.

Last year I didn't and it caused no probs and I don't intend to pinch them out or de-flower this year either.

That said, mine did take over the garden last year so I might need to pinch out purely to keep them under control

I've also never grown them in pots before so maybe they need to be treated differently as thet pot nutrients/water may not support as many fruits and the ground?

Looking back, I've probably not been much help have I?

LOL, thanks very much. Maybe I won't restrict the flowers then, as more smaller ones is better for me, but will pinch out the tips when they start taking over too far.
      Thanks, you did help.
