Block Planting Legumes

OK - dumb question coming up. If I block plant my broadies, peas and french beans, roughly how many plants do I want to be planting? I have some small plants in rootrainers and cells (40 peas and 32 broadies, no frencies yet). Is that enough for a decent crop, or do I want to get more going?

Last year I planted my beans and peas in bundles of about 5 plants, but results were poor, with only enough peas for one meal for my daughter.

I would plant as many peas as you have room for because you can freeze them and they are as good as the shop bought ones.
