  • fleece shelter instead of greenhouse?

I do not have a greenhouse or cold frame at the moment but was wondering if I could get away with growing those crops that can be planted now/soon under glass, under a fleece shelter or similar instead?

Depends on what you are thinking of growing. I've found fleece very good for covering crops on the lottie, but I don't think it would give you enough of a temperature lift to germinate seeds in trays. I usually do these on the kitchen windowsill or in the (small) heated propagator unit that I have. Main thing I've found is not to start things off too early or you run out of room to keep them growing.
