Flum (and anyone else interested!) I'd most definitely be up for a heritage seed swap. Do you have any idea how many of each they offer you (I guess it varies from type to type anyway). If it's a fair few, I wouldn't even mind swapping this year (before growing I mean). Definitely interested in saving and swapping in future though
I know there are people on this list who are already members - they might come along and let us know about quantities. With my joining pack, which arrived 2 days later, I received a newsletter (interesting read too) which mentioned the catalogue due out soon. I also got a pack of lettuce 'Stoke' which I looked up in Sue Stickland's "Seed Saving" book and discovered is a winter hardy (down south) variety. Sown it in the greenhouse. This didn't have a huge amount of seed but certainly I've had less in some bought packets!
I would think with peas, beans, toms - the sort of thing I'm particularly interested in - it would take a season to bulk up your stock. (Assuming you want to eat some too!)
