  • cucumbers flowering

which is nice, but they are still on the windowsill as I need to get stuff out of the greenhouse. Does it do any harm to leave them.

then there is the sex question - I think these may be female flowers - there is what might be a fruit beginning behind them.
Can someone remind me the rules of cucumbers and flowers, which you pull off to prevent bitterness?

    Thanks

The female flowers are quite obvious. They have a distinct (and prickly) mini cucumber behind them.
As for which to pull off, if it's an all-female variety, you pull off the male flowers, as you do not want the fruits to pollinate. If it is an old variety then it needs to pollinate or it won't produce any fruit, so just leave the flowers - they won't make the fruit go bitter.
