Sowing all things Cucurbit - 2020

I have a flower on my Baby F1 cucumber. How long until there is fruit?

It's in a very well sun-lit greenhouse with minimum night-time air temperature of around 10C

About 9 months apparently. No idea really.

My Partenon courgettes have been flowering for weeks but, they're all male flowers despite Partenon being parthenogenic and not needing a male's help.

I understand that parthenogenic varieties produce male flowers under conditions of stress. You aren't being beastly to them VC, are you?

Too early to sex my flowers.

As usual, the males are more forward than the shy females.
They're also slimmer.

That is the case with cucumbers, but I'm not sure if it applies to parthenogenic courgettes or not.

Sorry, yes, I should have been more specific. The source I was referring to was talking about cucumbers.

All 6 cucs germinated on day 3, that's a record for me!

All 4 of my Telegraph Improved cucumbers still surviving in their 6" pots. All sown the same time but ranging in size from mildly disappointing to positively boisterous. Soon be time to pot on to their final 12" pots.

Courgettes, Golden Zucchini and Midnight nearly outgrowing their 3" pots now. Waiting for the wind to die down a bit so I can harden them off and plant them out.

Crown Prince blue pumpkins now have their first true leaf.

Watermelon Crimson Sweet are growing very slowly in the cold greenhouse but they too are getting the first true leaf.

I'm very pleased with the gherkin seeds I bought on Amazon, Platina H. They are from a Lithuanian producer. I sowed 15 of them in a 15 module tray and got 100% germination. It will be interesting to see how they go. I tried Paris Cornichon a few years ago and had a miserable failure due to wind burn.

I've sown a lot of Cucurbits this year. I love them and I have some older seed to grow out so I just bunged them all in. * have germinated
