Hot water bottles

I like to conserve water where I can, and I've read that seedlings appreciate tepid water. Would there be any reason not to use the water from my hot water bottle to water seedlings in the mornings? I guess it's about body temperature by the time I get up.

Any thoughts?

I don't blame her - horrible things!! So hot they scald your legs, they are so big and heavy they roll in the middle and stop you moving and then you can't get rid of the bloody thing at 2am when it's ice cold! Brings back memories of sleep over at my Nans

I've never heard it called a pig before. Why a pig ?
I've got a couple of stone hot water bottle I use for any of my cold or sick animals. Wrapped in a towel so it doesn't burn them.

I'd use water out of a stone hot water bottle for seedlings but probably not out of a rubber one.

I still have some stoneware hot water bottles (with a flat side so they don't roll) and some "pop" bottles that do. Used to be wrapped in my nightie to warm it before I got into bed (when I was young - about 20 years ago).

Water from rubber hotties always smells funny so I wouldn't use it for seedlings, they're too sensitive as babies.

I pop my stone hot water bottle in the growhouse on cold nights... Privacy makes no difference at all, but it makes me feel like I'm codling my babies...

I wouldn't but why not sow a sacrificial crop of say mustard or cress - quick growers - and use the water with them. See how that goes

We'd take them camping they soon warmed up the sleeping bags got more sense these days we only go camping in summer time.

As a kid we'd have a shelf out of the Aga wrapped in a blanket it seemed to make the whole bed warm.

Looking from the side - the Front / End with knob looks like a pigs head and snout.

I had one once. Had never had one or seen one before and instinctively called it 'the pig' because of the snout at the front. Never knew that was its 'official' name. I loved it. The cat hated it.
