      • Just lifted these carrots, the big orange ones are sweet candle, not many germinated so I put the purple haze in the gaps. First time I’ve grown sweet candle they’ve been really big carrots, worth growing again (I’m making a chocolate carrot cake with these). ~

            • Emptied out another tub of sweet potatoes.
Only 1.9kg this time, from a larger tub with two plants in it. Bit disappointing. Maybe I should have stuck to just one plant, even in the larger tubs.

              • A couple leeks for dinner.
Emptied the final tub of sweet potatoes. 2kg.
So that's 11kg total of sweet potatoes this year, 5kg from outside, 6kg from three pots in the conservatory.

                • Harvested some of my tiger nuts today (actually a root crop, from a type of sedge).
They're certainly true to their name: the tubers are nut sized, hard and crunchy, and taste like a nut of some kind (kind of like a sweeter hazelnut, I think). They're really nice.
Rather fiddly getting all the mud off them, mind.

                          • Before the daily deluge - a savoy, some carrots, a large parsnip and the first leek. No parsley as stopped growing even under its cloche
