Tatties are now nicely greened on the windowsill and starting to chit away. Time to move them to the shed window with a piece of bubblewrap over them to slow them down a bit.

I don't chit anymore, in my experience, it doesn't make any difference.
I plant them a little deeper at the end of Jan

Some shop bought tatties are treated to stop them sprouting. As these were shop bought I wanted to make sure they would sprout before planting them. They have all sprouted so now its time to slow them down a bit.

Just hopping your shed is frost proof. That said all my tatties are in bags in the byre. Should get the covered before the bad weather.

I didn't know that, thanks for sharing.
Highly irritating that producers/suppliers treat things like this

I've only just ordered mine: Rocket, Vivaldi, Carolus and harmony. wanted some alouette as well but can't find them anywhere, Carolus are excellent though so will just have to do.

Shortages of some varieties this year apparently. Simplyseed say Sarpo Mira and Premiere are unavailable due to quality issues, and they only have half the usual stock of Red Duke of York and Anya.

I'll probably just stick with Charlotte for my earlies and I can't see there being a shortage of those!
