Could anyone please tell me if it would be possible to grow a small cherry tree in a polytunnel? I was thinking about one of the smaller types that are advertised as patio cherries or one on a very small rootstock. I am just reading Mark Gatter's and Andy McKee's book How to Grow Food in Your Polytunnel All Year Round" and it mentions apricots but not cherries. Is there any reason for that eg the roots spreading too much or something. Can anyone help please?

I don't want to grow it outdoors because the birds take all the fruit from the one we already have in the orchard. I don't mind because they were here first but I would like some for myself, which is why I want one in the tunnel if it is possible to grow one in there.Originally posted by greenishfing View PostWhy not just grow it outdoors?
