Right, glad you could join me..........I'm so glad I ventured to the lottie today as the kite had a slight gradient to it.......... Luckily the ropes had stopped it being flattened totally due to the wicked easterly winds & snow drifts......So I went on the prowl & found some timber, I cut notches in both ends & wedged them between the frame & the beds on both sides of the kite...........It's going nowhere now (famous last words).............

If the Kite has stood up to all that snow its a positive - makes me feel cold just looking at it - but it also shows the worth of a tunnel in keeping the ground out of the weather.

Cheers VC, It is so open to the elements, any advice I can give to others is a bonus........I wonder how ancees' kite has stood up to the weather but theirs was more sheltered.

With those struts you have a ready made cold frame - just a bit of plastic or bubble wrap on a frame resting on them - bit like double glazing

..........and, a couple of cup hooks halfway up the struts and you could drop a cane across them, then put your tomato canes/bean sticks to rest against them.

Have you ever considered that if I put some uprights in, I can make a table top for potting on and let the toms grow behind the table............would be ok for a shorty but would kill my back.

You could................put supporting legs at the back, where the strut meets the kite, and legs at the front, then a cross piece between them, front and back - to make an open box frame onto which you could drop a table/bench. If its not high enough - you'll have to kneel.

.......or a seat to sit on one side of the path, with a sliding table on the other side............

Ok, enough now I say................The main point is if anyone is thinking of buying one, make sure it is well anchored not only to the floor but by means of uprights as well.

Spoilsport I'm willing to bet that you modify those struts in some way within a few months
