  • recycled plastic bottle greenhouse

I'm in the process of making a greenhouse from recycled plastic 2 litre pop bottles and just wondered if anyone else has made one or knows of one?
I'm still at the 'collecting bottles' stage, so I still have some months to go before the greenhouse will be up, but I was inspired by a coldframe I saw made of the same materials.
Just wondered how others had constructed theirs and if there were any lessons to be learnt from others experiences.

One I saw had dowel rods through the middle of each column of bottles. Not sure if this is common practice. Also you can be quitecreative with the coloured ones in terms of patterns.

            they're expensive

Hi I have a bottle greenhouse... about 12ft by 8 ft ....it cost about £120 the hidden costs are things like posts wood plastic sheeting and time ... it would have been cheaper to get a green polytunnel but I still like mine. I havnt had problems with algae and the veg grows well in it. Mines really basic and has a few gaps and plastic sheet roof. Better designs cost more but may be worth the extra effort. top tip anchor it down and use guy ropes to stop it blowing away
