Been trying to post photos for a while so I am giving it another go.

The first one is the arrival and then CK unloading it peice by peice then all the metalwork lying on the bed where it is to go.

Here is a bit more.

The bed had to be extended by about a foot then the main frame erected. That bit was easy. It just slots together but you need the arms of an ape!!! Then the end covers were put on. this shows the back and the front has a door in (it not shown). The next post will show the fixing into the ground.

This bit wasn't too difficult either it just needed an awful lot of pushing and pulling!

The long rod with the hook on it is threaded onto the round plate, the rod with the plate is then inserted into the long 'T' shaped key and making sure that the whole contraption does not fall apart the plate and rod is then screwed into the soil by about 20 ins. Fine until you hit flint or tree roots!!! The bottom rails are then wired to the hooks.

No work today, got to be a bit domestic for a change. Tomorrow weather permitting the main cover goes on.

Yep, supports for staging when I have made it! The supports are removable, just bolted on to the frame.

How is it anchored to the ground? When we built the school tunnel, we had to dig big holes and sink anchor plates into them

If you look at post 18 it shows the anchor devices which are screwed into the ground using the big blue 'T' so no digging of holes.

Mid consruction and stopped for a cuppa. CK has just spent nearly an hour with the cover balanced on his head while we eased it over the top of the arches. But it is now there ready to be tensioned!!!!!

Am I right in thinking that the skin is tensioned to the bottom rail and not buried in the ground. If so why not try my method of water collection, reclaimed plastic gutter fixed to a fascia type board 6" x 1"" sawn will do. Dig out under bottom rail so that free edge of gutter fits under rail and cover . Drive stakes behind fascia board and screw through stakes into fascia board to stop it toppling over.At one end dig a hole in the ground 4ft x 4ft x 4ft and line with thick pond liner and wait till it fills up trust me it doesnt take long attach rope to bucket and away you go. When you get fed up with rope and bucket you can go to phase 2 which is a real jaw dropper and works like a dream. 12 volt boat bilge pump 12 volt liesure battery and fifty quid solar panel battery charger.Battery has never run flat yet after 2 years use. Phase three is a tank stand 3Ft 6"high and long enough to take 5 water butts into which i pump the water from the pit in winter when its full. havent used tap water in the tunnel for about to years

Good idea. I am waiting until spring before I start on the guttering so watch this space!
