Green Mould

In my new (old inherited) gh on the plot there is a soil border. Its covered in green mould,yuk. I have dug out the top couple of inches but am wondering if thats enough?
The gh is insulated with bubblewrap and has been all winter ,has this caused it?
I was all excited at the thought of having a gh on the plot but this is making me reluctant to plant anything in it.
There is a vine in it that is springing into action.
Any advice gratefully recieved, thank you.

Hi Carol,

Your mould in the greenhouse has grown because the conditions in the greenhouse have suited it down to the ground.(Excuse the pun). . It will be as much a lack of ventilation as anything and a failure to cultivate the ground in the past that has caused it. A fork over and some fym dug into the ground will have it looking good in short order.

Nowt to worry about chuck.

p.s. give the inside of the glass, any staging and the framework a good scrub with a solution of ***** fluid. 50:1 should be fine. Will smell like an old public toilet for a day or two but that will have sterilised it.

Any overflow onto the ground inside the greenhouse should do no harm at that strength.
