Ants in my greenhouse border

I hate the little blighters! I'm just about to transfer my tomatoes into my greenhouse border and discover ants seem to have nested in it. I can't use ant powder as I want to be able to grow non-poisonous veg.

Does anyone have any ideas how I get rid of them (as tempting as catching them one by one and pulling off their little legs individually to teach them a lesson is, that sounds a bit slow )

Move everything away from that area and pour boiling water into the nest. You might have to do it several times. Make sure it really is as boiling as you can get, as it cools between house and greenhouse!!!

Ants like dry nests. Just water thoroughly every day for a couple of days and they'll move out. Nobody needs to die.

Thank you both so much for your replies. I've just been down to inspect the area and lifted up the weed suppressant matting which was there until I'm ready to use the border .....

Yeuchhhhhhh. Ughhhhhhhhh. Gross. Thousands of ants and HUGE egg things. My skin is crawling. I know that makes me a wimpish girlie of a gardener but I can't help it. If it is at all redeeming, I don't mind spiders

I'm now debating hot or cold water .... not sure .... probably both. Maybe a quick hot bath into the nest, then soak the area for a few days to encourage any malingerers to move on.
