I've been offered a Polytunnel frame....

which is fantastic, but i'd like to pick your brains on what type of frame it is....and how you think i ought to fit a cover,

first tunnels are great, when i put my tunnel up i put boards all the way round the bottom,and then fixed by means of battens rolled into the cover this allows you to get good tension on the cover,you then screw thro the batten into the boards,make sure you have secured the boards well into the ground so that in very windy conditions the tunnel stays in your garden and not down the road.

Hi guys i think i'm going to use the trench method to secure my plastic but i was wondering if anyone knows how much extra plastic i will need to add on to the width dimension in order to accomadate this?

Dimensions so far are

Height 2m
Width 4m 33
Length 20ft 6.10m
Hoop Length 20ft 6.10m

My guestimate is that the cover should be 5m85 wide and 10m long

If you can, try and choose a warm, still day to fit the cover (I know, in an ideal world ) so that you are stretching the cover ever so slightly. If fitted cold, it will give a bit when it warms up, and possibly end up baggy.

We've been umming and arring over some offered polytunnel hoops - they're about 16ft wide, but there's only 3, so it could end up wider than it is long... Hmmmmm

Any of the large tunnel suppliers (First Tunnels, Northern Polytunnels etc) will be able to tell you exactly how much polythene you need if you give them the dimesions - length, width, height etc. You might be suprised at how much polythene you need to cover the ends - it always look like miles too much but it won't be when it's all been folded into place.
Good luck - don't worry too much about covering the frame on a warm day (though it is preferable) - it's much more important that there is no wind (voice of experience - 1600 square ft of polythene make a hell of a good kite in even a slight breeze) and if you are trenching the sides, you can just heap more ground against them to tighten the sheeting later on.
