  • Tomato plants huge

I started to early and my tomato plants are getting really big and one has started flowering. We are due a frost as weather changing here in the North East. Just when I was going to put them in grow bags in greenhouse. So my question is if I do and fleeced them every night with loads of layers would they be okay?

Sounds a bit risky to me - due to start warming up on Monday I think. My tomatoes are out in the PT, but its generally likely to be that bit warmer in my neck of the woods I think ( I'd have to dig them up to bring them inside anyway) :-)

Think I should wait and see what weather is like next week first? What will I do with the flowering plant though.

I would keep them indoors now until the weather warms up next week. Having flowers on makes no difference. If you put them out now they would likely get frosted.

I am in the same position. Started tomatoes in jan and they are really big and some have flowers. I’ve brought them all inside the last 2 nights and will continue for next few nights. So my kitchen is full! Can’t risk them outside when predicted temp is 2 even with fleece and bubble wrap.
