Nearly everything in both GH's beds are "leftovers" from last year - either self seeded or still growing from something sown in 2018.
The only new plants are in pots.

The lettuces are amazing and they are from plants left to seed.

Some pics I took yesterday in the polytunnel.

This is what I use for most seed planting. Sieved MPC with a 10% mix of perlite and vermiculite.

some broad beans in the foreground and some onions in the background. That lumpy black cover is over my main middle bed in the tunnel that I emptied 20 wheelbarrows of well rotted cow manure into last year when I removed all the plants. I still haven't gotten around to leveling it off - hence lumpy...

I've also planted a couple of varieties of peas. No real need for covers here but just in case a mouse likes the look of them I put some plastic covers over them that were lying around.

Taken today, the strawberries on pots on the right are for the new bed outside if and when the ground warms up a bit. The ones in the window boxes and in pots next to the blowaway are Mara des Bois, which stay under cover all year.

          Hi Burnie
What sort of crop do you get from Mara des Bois strawbs, also what do they taste like?
Feed the soil, not the plants.

The crop isn't huge, but the flavour is, they are perpetual, so if you pollinate with a brush and the temps are reasonable, you can still be picking fruit in October

You can grow them in containers, bigger the better, then they can be outside in the warmer months and moved inside when it changes, I take a few runners each year to keep the stock up and keep the best plants.

Lettuces are just "living salad" from Sainsbury, cheaper than buying from a garden centre

Mines still messy - newspapers are to cover plants at night. Cuttings from the autumn, early dahlias and lots of flower seeds...my toms come in in the evening.

These toms have been there for a week. In fact all my toms, courgettes, cukes and peppers have been in the GHs overnight for that long.

GH No 3 - overwintering geraniums and other tender stuff.

                              Hi,

In the spirit of progress I thought I'd try my hand at a little video of my growing area. The attached youtube clip is a walk around my polytunnel (and a bit outside)

It's my first ever attempt so hopefully it actually works.

That's great, Bacchus. Just watched it. Now that I've heard your voice you've become a "real" person, rather than an anonymous one.
