    Hmm, I think they are fairly hardy things but I would want some back up too. Cuttings taken in Spring work really well, though you would need to move it before then. If you decide to do it, take as much soil around the root ball as possible. Failing that @sd@ sell them for £2 in the Spring

      Freezing it is useful if your rosemary is on your allotment and you decide you want some on a snowy day without a trek to fetch some.

      Whilst you're picking a bit for the table try and root a few cuttings too in a glass of water.
