Hi - does anyone grow this? It is supposed to be a good antidote to the 'interesting' side effects from jerusalem artichokes. If you do grow it - is it a 'spready' one? Should I plant it in an open bottomed bucket to restrict it from taking over a patch of garden?

I've got a little one, just planted this summer.
It's a woody shrub, and doesn't spread through roots, so a bucket wouldn't really make any difference, though it can potentially get quite big. It's fairly similar in growth to rosemary, I reckon, though mine's been a bit slower growing.

Not spreading at all. A small, perennial evergreen shrubby plant of small proportions.

Thanks everyone - that sounds OK! Didn't want a triffid or something like mint that takes over!

Lol. I couldn't emphasise enough it was small. You are safe Suzie, they are nice too.
