Quick addition - bought GYOMag this month and if you present the magazine article (page 83) on Sat/Sun you get free entry. For how many people I don't know. Also on the Sat/Sun 3rd/4th Bristol has the organic food fair on. So maybe a two event trip...

If I had a pair or boobs, I'd bring the little one, but alas she's pretty much attached constantly to my wife heh

Well went today and bought a few of the less common place rosemary and mint plants. Bought her mew cookbook and got it signed. Had a fairly OK meal in there but the 2.5 hours I feared wouldn't be enough was just that. Enjoy if you go.

Two talks - one at 10:30 another at 2:30. Brief is the word I would use. Tours and longer if numbers up

I take it you aren't impressed VVG. Shame that.

I was impressed with the nursery - asked Jekka for advice on the caper plant I bought from Malvern as theirs were large, thriving and fruiting. Mine - well it's alive, just!
All staff helpful and around where the beds were. The tour was a talk on six chosen herbs for 5 minutes. I think it's lack of length had more to do with the fact that people weren't responding. It let it down a little for me if I am honest but then I had taken a four hour round trip to be there not just 20 minutes travelling locally. She did however spend a lot of time with members of the press...

Wasn't bad, I spent 23 quid on various seeds and plants, 6 lots of seeds, 4 plants, got most of the ones I was after.
Wandered round to see what was there, sat down and had a cup of coffee and some rosemary/lemon drizzle cake and wrote down everything I wanted [took the book with me because I didn't have time beforehand to look through it properly], got most of what I wanted from the seed racks, because the seeds were a lot chepaer than the plants. Got my buy 4 get the cheapest free herbs, chose the ones that were either mid-flower or had flowered so i can save more seed from them too.
Walked outside onto the road and had a fag because you can't smoke in there, foraged some rose-hips while I was there
Went back in, listened to the talk, was it ugni, black parsely, mustard greens too VVG? There were about 20 people there when I was there and I can see why they don't open all the time, you'd never fit a steady stream of traffic down those lanes.
I enjoyed myself, but then I was only half an hour away via m4, and would have been there quicker if not for the 2 mile tailback due to an accident...

It was Taff - same talk - sun beat down yesterday and I think maybe too hot so rushed through it. Didn't see the rose hips - well done! Shame I didn't get to meet you but I'm glad you went and enjoyed. We combined the trip with a look see at the SS GB and Matthew tall ship plus an ebay pick up in Bath followed by dog walking and fish and chips on the beach at WsM.
Bought same as you seeds where could and obscure mints/rosemarys plus a myrtle. Wish we had that cake - sounds good. We had a baked camembert that was hard and quite cold...baked???
