Plain Naan bread herb??????

I like the black seeds in Naan bread which taste of aniseed! Different schools of thought proclaim them to be Dill,Fennel,Caraway or Cumin seeds?

Anyone have a definitive answer? Also would I be alright adding whatever seeds they are to a white bread mix for the breadmaker?

Lots of questions I know, but you knowledgeable lot will surely point me in the right direction!

I'm just wondering whether I'm seeing the black seeds which according to the chart are onion seed and asuming these are whats giving the aniseed flavour when in fact its another seed that I can't see?
Will have to physically seperate the black seed next time I have a naan and have a munch!

Kalonji aren't actually onion seed though are they????? They are called that but it isn't actual onion seed......as far as I was aware....

You should be able to get Nigella (by all her many names!) in any Asian supermarket Snadge.

Look that's rubbish - they are kalonji seeds - do some googling.

Edit - as well I've just been online shopping at Tesco's - they list all the products ingredients - check out their plain naans - kalonji seeds!
