Haven't grown thyme in a pot for a while. It looks like it needs a good haircut just don't go too far into the woody part of the stem. You can freeze the sprigs - makes it easier to pick off the leaves. It can be split to rejuvenate in April. What you are after is encouraging the soft new shoots which are good to cook with fresh.
It may keep going all year in Egypt - just read your location!
it looks gud, but i would def trim it back, not into old wood tho, it dosent like that, just a kinda small haircut, and it will be back strong in the spring
