  • Red Coriander

Hi, does anyone know why my coriander's gone red? I've transplanted it into my herb garden on my allotment and the leaves have turned a reddy colour. Apart from that it's growing well... Thanks

When carrots are attacked by carrot fly the foliage takes on a redish tinge. I know that corriander is umbeliferous so I suppose it could be related to carrots?

My corriander that has been abandoned in a pot has gone reddish at the base - maybe due to stress?

I think it's carrot fly; pull one up and see if there are any grubs in the root

Coriander hates being transplanted. It really needs to be sown in situ

Thanks TS, I was about to post a question about transplanting coriander. I sowed into a fairly shallow tray (only about 2" deep) and although the growth is healthy at the moment, I doubt it will make tall plants. Should I try to transplant it, or use it now?

Thanks everone - I think it was the transplanting problem. There were no grubs on it. The new seeds seem to have come through absolutely fine.
