  • Borage

My borage finally collapsed in the frost and looks like it needs cutting back.
Never grown it before- I'm presuming it's a perennial????
Do I cut it back to about 3"???

I grew borage from seed years ago - the seed packet said it was an annual, but it's been self-seeding ever since. So I guess the same will happen with yours, Nicos.

I never did anything to it, only thing is it comes up in various different places. I love the blue flower - has anyone used it for anything in the house? Only thing I've ever done with it is add the leaves to nettles and water to make a liquid feed.

Hmm..well to be honest I've read mixed reports on Google. It's the blue flowered version.
Problem is that mine is planted surrounded by weed supressant membrane- so not sure it'll be able to self seed- unless onto the path

I kept meaning to put a flower in each section of an ice cube tray and serve it with drinks...but never got round to it

        Borage officinalis is:
a hardy annual - native to the Med - wilts almost instantly on picking....so have ya Pimms ready before you pick it

I would pull it up and set seed fresh well, that is what I did with mine and have new seed on standby
