Poor Basil growth

    My experience last year was that cuttings in water strike much more slowly below 25°C or so. Almost to the point of giving up on them. I think it just likes the warm and sunny weather instead of what we tend to see at this time of year. I suspect that there might be a few folk in the forum who have that tendency as well.
    Location:- Rugby, Warwckshire on Limy clay (within sight of the Cement factory)

      Basil is so fussy about temperature, anything below about 15C and it just sits there sulking. I gave up trying to get it going early and now I don't bother until late May at the earliest. The supermarket pot trick is honestly the best shortcut, split them up and they grow on way faster than seed at this time of year.
