  • rusty chives????

i took a cutting from my mom chives down south coast for when i moved to middlesex (dont why im saying this bit may be of relevence ) planted up fine, growing fine, last year i had a couple of leaves with what i could only call rust spots, so i quickly cut it back, but as it was late in the season it hasnt grown back again untill this year, it's growing fine i have lots of flowers on it ready to burst, went to cut some for dinner and its covered again do i have to destroy it, has anyone else ever had "rust" on there chives? is there any help for it? could it be the environment? planes flying over head all the time, my moms ones are still fine growing where they please as norm. mines in a pot with multi purpose compost ? aww i really dont want to throw it away
