Plants to combine with creeping phlox

Are there any flowers which will grow up through creeping phlox and which will flower before or after the phlox flowers, without crowding or hampering the phlox�s growth and vigour?

I don't know much about creeping phlox but would spring bulbs work? Snowdrops, crocus, muscari etc.

Thx veggie for your thoughts. I was thinking of crocus myself and alliums but I didn’t want to influence anyone. I’m planning of filling a bed about 1 foot high and one foot wide which runs alongside a wall to the front gate with creeping phlox and I was thinking are there any plants which could extend the colour and flowering time. I suppose anything which has little foliage would work but that’s a tall order - but then you folk out there are a clever lot -so here’s hoping.
