    It's a couple of feet high and has a nice scent. Scent doesn't seem strong enough for daphne.https://www.flickr.com/photos/103667.../shares/G3fxJx

      The RHS picture of daphne atlantica seems to have slightly more rounded leaves. Could be just the picture though.

      Your shrub has to be some kind of daphne though DannyK. Shame if the scent isn't what you wish it. Does it flower for a long period?
      Mostly flowers, some fruit and veg, at the seaside in Edinburgh.

        Many thanks. It's in a neighbour's garden. We'll have another search for label.

        The scent is very nice but I expected it to be stronger from a daphne.

        There's a dwarf lilac three houses down, which I can smell if the wind is in right direction.

          The leaves are less rounded in this picture,it does look like this plant. Ive got a daphne odora & the flowers don’t smell as strong as they sometimes do,maybe they’re strongest smelling when they first open after some time the fragrance fades out as do the flowers?
