Chilli variety suggestions please

Yep I am on the right thread as I am being weird again.

I am looking for a chilli which gives lots of small fruits on decent length stems. As it will be for flower arranging. All the plentiful small fruited ones I can think of only tend to be a foot high in total.

I am not fussed about growing them this year I am just in the realms of rainy day pondering

Numex Twilight is certainly a great choice.
Very similar (not sure what the difference is myself) is Bolivian Rainbow.
Fairy Lights also pretty similar but I believe with this one the pods are slightly bigger and therefore not quite the same numbers on a plant but still plentiful. The common thread tying these together is the quantity of developing pods and range of colours evident at any one time once fruiting actively underway.
Black Pearl would be my personal recommendation; the foliage is predominantly black with variegated green, while the chillies appear in clusters of 'pearls' starting black and eventually turning red, at the ends of straight ish side shoots.
Some of the smaller fruited habaneros might work in that the pods would be plentiful and in complementary colours eg. cream, but the branches tend to be more pendulous

NG your comment about Nicky's got my interest. Not sure what you're issue is, but I'm also avoiding them from now on.
Will have a think if there are any more varieties suitable.
If you want big bold statement lemon drop might do the job. he's definitely got the long stems not sure he has the right fruit spacing.

I am not a great fan of Nickys due to germination issues and seeds not true to type. However for a fair few months that I know of their site doesn't load (or rather the seed info) they are also not responding to anything on the bluebird social site either.

I now feel very old...... I don't know what the bluebird social site is
To be fair I've not bothered wasting my breath trying to get replacements or refunds so I don't know the website was playing up.

I feel old trying to use the different sites, especially with hash tags and dashboards and trying to find what works for me (like insta is not for pc's) . I still can't get to grips with faceache and unfortunately it is business related so really need to force myself.

Nicky's Nursery had a particularly long list of tomato and chilli varieties, so when I was looking for information about rarer varieties, I often ended up there.

I noticed a while back there was a problem with them, or at least their website.

The website stopped working properly with my old desktop, running an old version of Windows. But it seems to display all the pages ok if I access the website on my android smartphone.

Purple Peach (CGN21500) which I think I did get from Nicky's last year, had very poor germination but I finally got one plant out of it. It had small-ish globular fruit which all came at once, starting out green/purple and maturing to orange/purple (hence the name.) The branches had a nice arching habit too. I only got the one crop off it last year so if you want something repeat-producing then that's probably not the right one for you.

I'd second Lemon Drop as it has masses of fruits I it and is visually attractive...oh er😁

Trepadeira Werner has beautiful creamy white chillies born on each branch node and the plants have lots of arching branches on them. They look stunning, but only change colour to yellow, orange & red late in the season. The plants grow with enthusiasm so would be good for harvesting branches/stems.

Plus I know you have seeds for them...

eta: Nicky's are also a must-avoid for me too. Same reasons as everyone else.

Hi NG. Indeed I have, it's probably my favourite ornamental chilli. It's particularly dramatic set against the more classic green leaved plants. I believe seeds did originally come from Nicky's but I've not used that site in some while so have been oblivious to the issues you guys have encountered. That's a shame if it has gone downhill, as Chris points out their chilli seed range a few years back was extensive.
Ah well, a quick search has revealed the more mainstream T&M now look to offer this variety, so all is not lost
(sure I have a photo somewhere of when I last grew it, will see what I can find...)

If you're still looking for varieties for flower arrangements, Calico is another one that might suit. It's unlikely it'll grow as extensively as Black Pearl, or Twilight, but with a roomy pot and good conditions you can get it a bit bigger than the advertised size of approx 35cm height. If you can overwinter it even better. It's worth a mention for the beauty of it's foliage, which is predominantly white and/or green streaked with purple and/or pink. It bares smallish dark purple fruits that gradually turn red.
What I know about flower arranging I could write on the back of a stamp! but I'd grow this for it's visuals alone
