Don't know but it's gorgeous; I love silver leafed plants. Can you save some seed and share it around?

Oh no its not!

I've got one of those at the allotment plot though which had a 2 metre high yellow flowered spike..............then it died.!

This one has pale PINK flowers and the inflorescence is no more than two foot high and light and airy! It is also a perennial I think as it has flowered and seems to be still growing and increasing in size. Another difference from the mullien is that the bottom rossette doesn't rise up as it flowers.

I think I see your reasoning. The verbascum leaves and the Lychis flowers. We'll just have to wait until it flowers next year.

I had another look at verbascum flowers on goggle images and these were pretty close to them, if not a bit paler

.

It does say that this type is a perennial also, although mine has silver foliage..

It didn't have 'spikes' of flowers like this one. I think I'm just going to have to wait until it flowers again and post again.

Right....

Zooming in on your picture.... i can see the big grey furry leaved plant is the Mullen.

However the dead stick like thing to the side is... Lychnis.

If you are right, (tend to think you might be) and if they are both the perennial version of each, I hope the verbascum doesn't throw up a big yellow flowered stalk. That will certainly cause a colour clash!

I'll inspect further next time I am over my project home, probably after the new year!

Well done Sherlock. You may have solved the crime of the silver woolly plant!

If there are any seed heads, take them off and grow them on away from the mullein! Wouldn't want you to have a colour clash! Maybe they may flower at different times anyway?
