Tulips? Are these unusual?

Not a fan of Tulips but OH bought these back in the Autumn so I planted them in a container and left them to grow, or not.
I was so pleasantly surprised to see the lovely the bulbs produced.
They range from having one bud per stem to five buds per stem, all striped and multicoloured.6

There's lots of different ones about now, some really lovely .
I like those, plenty colour .

If like me you probably have memories of very boring tulips and thought that accounted for them, however there are loads and loads of shapes and colours and are more readily available than they were 20-30 years ago.

You are absolutely right about all the different types and colours.

I bought loads of plum and purple tulips, all different styles and shapes.

They were really clever purple tulips, some came out bright yellow and some bright red with yellow edges.

Really messed up my careful colour planting. GRRR.

But I still love tulips and in the Autumn when I buy new tulips I will put them in pots and wait to see if they are the colour it says on the packet.

These are mine but they have nearly finished now.
