Anyone grown sarcococca confusa "sweet box"?

I am considering buying two to plant by my front door in planters and I would also like to do topiary work on them but they dont seem to be an obvious choice. Has anyone here used them for topiary? Was it successful.

Not tried topiary with mine, but they are worth having for the fantastic scent in winter.

They self seed very easily.

I got one last year to put in a tub, I thought the scent would be nice by the back door in wintertime, but to be honest, I find I really don't like the scent at all. Much prefer winter honeysuckle.

It is growing very well though, putting on lots of bushy growth all over, so I should think it would be ideal for topiary.

Thanks for the info. I think I will give it a whirl. I also love the fragrance of the winter honeysuckle shrub. I have one near the front door. It should be an interesting combo of fragrance.
ps If you want to support our busy bees then you cant go wrong by planting a winter honeysuckle or winter sweet (Chimonanthus praecox) in your garden. Both shrubs have deliciously fragrant flowers that last over a couple of months at least and also the bees love them on a mild winters day. Both have been in flower over Christmas in my garden and its not uncommon to see bees on them then either.
