      Here's what I'd do Jay!

      Repot them in some decent mpc, no need to go up a pot size! check the roots as you do so, water them sparingly so the soil is evenly moist but not waterlogged, hack em back to ground level, stick em on a plant saucer on a well lit windowsill with an occasional watering overwinter n see what happens come springtime!

      Yeah! agree with Danny that they are a short lived perennial, and also with VC, that as even these were a discounted item, they should have reached you in better condition than that!
