  • what to do with small begonias

A month or so ago I was in the local garden centre and they were selling off pots of begonia seedlings cheap. They were a bit leggy but I potted them all on and now I have 20 or more small plants. They are about 3-4 inch high.
    What should I do.
Plant them into the garden or move into bigger pots ?
Will the flower this year ?
    Thanks
    Jimmy

I concur they belong in park gardens or roundabouts.

They sound big enough to be planted in their final flowering positions - either in the ground, hanging baskets, large pots, or wherever you want them to be.

Thanks I will pop them out, some have started to flower even though the plants are small.
The pots are actually the bottom of a 1 pint plastic milk carton ( Scrooge Principal ).

Re the derogatory comments about begonias I agree as I am a veg grower.
              However:
              1) They were cheap ( Scrooge Principal again )
              2) Orders from "Supreme Headquarters" require flowers in the front border.

I once toyed with sweet corn interspersed between the flowers.
Looked quite nice I thought, but "Supreme Headquarters" had a different opinion !

I'm glad you took the comments in the light-hearted way they were intended

True however orders from "Supreme Headquarters" are not to be taken light-hearted !

Spent an hour or more last night after work getting a border into order to put them in.

I also have about 20 or so geraniums which I also got cheap and potted on.

And the last ones were some buzzie lizzie plants. They came with a multi-pack. I sowed them in the propagator with the thought that they normally don't germinate. But this year I got loads.
So plenty of plants, just very late.
