  • seeding a lawn that's in need of some TLC

my lawn is need of a bit of TLC; mossy in parts and prone to toad stools in autumn, so i plan to aerate and put down a sand/compost top dressing this week. other parts are a bit sparse (she's a real beauty...) so I could do with seeding those areas - my question is can the seed go down with the top dressing?

read a few threads but any advice is appreciated as none the wiser...

    thanks

Aerate, seed and topdress in that order. I would give it another couple of weeks at least until the soil temperature is suitable for seed to germinate.Aerate now by all means but hold back the seed and topdressing until April.
