I was wondering how I can plant a 24" pot thats 15" deep with bulbs that will give me a nice display from spring till summer in a way that, as the earlies die, the next ones will take their place and so on. I have trawled the web but i'm sure that there is someone here that can fill the bill

Thanks, but I had figured that much out, what I was after was a sort of list that would give me flowering times and depths to make it a bit more organisedOriginally posted by Two_Sheds View PostGet a mix of bulbs that will flower at different times
Plant them at the recommended depth, as normal (usually twice the depth of the height of the bulb)

Hmm, how about this as a starter for 10 then.
Bottom layer - lilies.
Next layer up- late tulips
Next layer up - early tulips
On top of those - daffs or narcissi
Top layer - species crocus.
You'd have to water well and feed.Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

Erm, may I be cheeky and ask about the depths?Originally posted by Jeanied View PostHmm, how about this as a starter for 10 then.

That will depend on the size of the bulbs you buy - use the recommendations on the packaging or on display if buying loose bulbs. Twice the the height of the bulb is the normal rule of thumb.Originally posted by Davyburns View PostErm, may I be cheeky and ask about the depths?
The food in the compost soon gets used up and you will need to top it up with feed after the first 6 weeks growing. Watering is important especially as they should be growing in a sunny spot to get a good show. I use a water gauge/ probe as otherwise I forget.Originally posted by Davyburns View PostI intend to use miracle grow compost laced with Vermiculite, that should cut down on the feed and water shouldnt it?Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?
