  • Growing Teasels

I have several seed heads of Teasel which were sprayed gold for Christmas. surely I can grow plants from these seeds?

Should they be broadcast over the seed tray or should I just pick out each seed with tweezers.

I think just shaking the heads over the seed tray should be good enough. I never seem to have any trouble growing them on my plot in fact I wish they would stop growing where they self seed. If the seeds are reluctant to leave the head try crunching the heads in your hands first.

I would think the wild seeds would be in the ground by now as I have nothing resembling a seedhead on my plot but I am sure they will be there again this year. Good luck but beware that they can get out of hand.

I'd be suprised if there were any seed in them if you bought them. But if there is just broadcast them outside as they are Biennials I think.

Yep they are normally biennials. If they've been sprayed for Christmas any seed that was inside might now be tarnished.
