Peonie Help

OH planted 2 Peonie bulbs back on 10/3 and nothing is showing yet. Is this normal or have we got a failure-to-launch?

Don't give up on them just yet! I planted a peony bulb in early spring a couple of years ago - saw nothing of it that year and assumed it was a goner. Then, lo and behold, the following year it decided to make an appearance (foliage only unfortunately). It's come back again this year - still doesn't look like it's going to flower but there's more foliage so I'm hopeful for next year...

They hate being too deep - that might be delaying things, maybe?

Peonie's are my personal nemesis Hot Stuff, have tried for years with nothing but a lot of foliage, BUT this year i have had success, and have a plant with one single flower bud, and that alone has made it worth persevering.
Keep trying Hot Stuff, it'll pay off in the end
