    Hello,

I saw a couple of trees a while ago that a quite fancied for my new border, but can i for the life of me remember their names or find them in any searches i do?! Both trees have a compact, column-like growth habit, one was a cherry and the other an evergreen type - anyone any ideas please of their names? Or suggestions for something that would fit this description?

    Many thanks.

Do you mean a dwarf conifer? There are quite a few to choose from.

Have a look through here to see if you can recognise it.

I've seen an ornamental cherry somewhere that grows into a columnar, very narrow, shape - would that be the thing? I'll have a look for it.

Edit: not sure if this is the one, but looks similar - Amanogawa
