  • Dying Ranunculus

Well the mew plant failure just keeps ramping up. Brand new beautifull Ranunculus bought from Lidl and within a month it's dying. It had some white meal bug on it a week ago (never had that before) I washed it off, including soil to bare root and replanted in new Compost. Now it's just getting we worse 😭

I used to grow these back in the uk….mine did best with about 30% grit in the compost otherwise the roots and corm rotted.
Have you still got the label?…and was it in flower when you bought it?
Not sure, but if it was in flower, then maybe it’s dying back naturally into its corm?

Is the plant still in its nursery pot? Info online says one plant per six inch pot & at least 12 inches deep. Most plants need potting into a larger pot after growing in the nursery (& everywhere) so they have the root space to grow & mature.

Well it's completely dead now. More money down the drain in a very short space of time. There is absolutely no reason why something should go downhill so fast
