  • Photos - A flower a week?

I thought it might be nice to share photos of flowers which catch our eye each week?
Between us we should be able to do this even if there are loads one week and only one the next?

Flowers can be grown from seed , bought plants / bouquets, garden or hedgerow flowers or even a piccie of a pretty flower you spot when walking in the town or countryside.

Lets share some pretty flower pictures !

I’ll start with my Lidl Amaryllis which I bought in November as 2 tiny flower heads and no leaves... look, it’s growing a 3rd flower bud!

Not sure what this is. Given to Mrs quanglewangle as a tiny plant. Survives neglect and nightly blasting by nearby dehumidifier. Nearly thrown out on several occasions. Then quelle surprise, it flowers.

I live in a part of the UK with very mild winters. Please take this into account before thinking "if he is sowing those now...."

I think it's a billbergia. I killed one years ago! Have a variegated one but I can't get it to flower.

                      My first iris reticulata.
I have about twenty planters with hostas in. I decided to brighten up the winter with some irises. It was hard work as the hostas were filling the planters.

They are really bulking up well considering they are fighting it out with hostas.
