Lilies

I have a problem this year with my lilies whereby it looked like an infestation of very small slugs which are causing the leaves to grey and fall off. There are no trails on the ground so consider it must be airborne. Any one have any ideas on what they are and how to get rid of them. I have been growing lilies for about 15 years with no problems

Could it be you've had lilly beetles on them, the scarlet ones ? They lay eggs which turn into nasty slug-like larvae.
