I can’t seem to grow hosta here...think it’s too dry.
Yet the few times I’ve tried they were attacked by slugs

Those sound like a lovely combination!

I've had no luck with Hostas like Nicos says they do seem to be slug/snail food. I do like delphiniums though they always look striking in the borders.

the 2 'bigger ones' will go in the shady border but the miniatures I'll grow those in pots I used to have some before. I'm looking forward to the Delphiniums myself - never grewn them before but I've got some seeds as well so I'll sow those and plant down the lotty and weedle them out to the best plants and maybe move those up to home.

I spoke to one of my old chrysanth growing mates today as well and he's going to do me some cuttings so I can grow a few for in the house including some for christmas - brownie points in the bag
