I bought a heated propagater before Xmas and set some carnation seeds as soon as it arrived. They all came up and I transferred them to modules in my unheated greenhouse on Monday. It's been either snowing or sub-zero since and they're all still looking perky. Well impressed.

There's also a tray of Orlaya Grandiflora that are popping up quicker than the tray I set in the greenhouse in late October.

Someone gave me a packet of grape hyacinth bulbs this Christmas. I'm not going to plant them.

I've been trying to get rid of them from the front garden for years

They are self seeded ones that were transplanted earlier this year.

The tops of my spring bulbs are poking up ready to take off once the days get longer. The dahlias will not budge until May.
