I do as Monty Don suggested the other week and sow 3 (or 4) to a pot. Only sowed mine a week ago! One day I'll be organised enough for an Autumn or at least and early Spring sowing
Nestled somewhere in the Cambridgeshire Fens. Good soil, strong winds and 4 Giant Puffballs! https://www.growfruitandveg.co.uk/gr...lies/smile.gif

I’d definitely recommend autumn sowing. It’s made a real difference to me this year as they were big enough to get outside early and not sulk so much as they did last year.

Autumn sowing works much better if you garden on ground which dries up in the Summer which mine does. The plants send their roots down much deeper if given the chance in the Spring, and rarely need watering again once they are established.

We had -4 C frosts here last week and all mine which had been planted out are fine - they are much tougher than they look.

Mine are looking quite nice and green, and if they can outgrow the weeds I should get plenty of flowers. They look like they are ready to grow now having had plenty of rain, and with the temps starting to warm up.

I planted mine out a couple of weeks ago and they're looking strong and healthy. I'm just growing the flaked grandiflora America for a change this year and hoping for a great show.

The autumn sown ones are doing well. Got some buds on them.

Mine are out about 4 weeks now.
They are growing well with no problems.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

I’m a bit late with this but I spotted a couple of packets of white sweet pea seeds yesterday so I picked them up.

I’m thinking of sowing them now...it’s not too late is it given that we have longer summers here?

You could try getting them sprouting first (kitchen roll and water) , give them a head start .
