    Anyone know what sort this is please. its growing in my friends garden , ,i save seeds from it last year and now they are growing..so thought i had better find out what it real name was.

    That is an Agapanthus. Pretty aren't they.

      Its so big , last year it had 3 flowers but only one this year....Thank you.

        Is lack of flowering a sign of the bulbs becoming over crowded? But then did you say you only planted last year? In which case that doesn't make a lot of sense....

        Agapanthus are beautiful though

          ^^^ha ha ....no i planted seeds from it this year...mine are only 4 to 5" high.....i don.t think they have been watering it ....we are so dry here ...no rain to talk of.

            I use a mix of six scoops of compost three scoops of sand/grit and two scoops of perlite,the quantity is unimportant as long as the ratio is the same, if for seeds I use this mix, if I am potting on I add some blood, fish and bone, along with a small quantity of chicken manure pellets
